Peppermint White Russian

If you want a beverage for the grownups, try this Peppermint White Russian. We discovered it around Christmas time, but it’s too good not to keep making all through the winter. You’ll need Kahlua coffee liqueur, peppermint vodka, half and half and some ice cubes for the drink and vanilla frosting and peppermint candy bits to frost the glass. (Leftover candy canes work great!)  You can also use Choc-o-mints to add a hint of chocolate flavor.

Get the directions from Home Cooking Memories and get the party going.

Rock candy

Candy Buffet

Of course, no party is complete without a candy buffet. Guests love choosing their own candy and bringing it home to snack on later. You can choose any candy that matches your theme, but if you’re looking for ideas here are some of our favorites.

Rock candy sticks are a classic favorite. Get them in blue and white for a winter theme. Jelly Belly Champagne Bubbles are another sweet treat that fit right into a winter theme. Put them in a jar and they look like snow. Cube pops remind your guests of ice cubes, but tastier. Choose blue ones in sweet cotton candy flavor to complete the illusion.

You don’t have to stick with the snow and ice theme. Bring some heat into your party with Atomic FireballsUnbearably Hot Cinnamon Bears, or classic red hots. If that’s not enough candy for you, don’t forget that Jelly Belly Jelly BeansM&M’sGummi Bears and Sixlets all come in a rainbow of colors you can mix and match with your theme.

Whatever you do, make sure you have plenty of bulk candy for your guests to snack on during the party.
