Cute Halloween Crafts with Candy

Halloween can be scary, but crafting with bulk candy makes it a little sweeter. Keep little hands occupied with crafts so simple that even the youngest kids can help. Try them with your family or at a kids Halloween party. When you’re done, put them on display as Halloween decorations or give them out to Trick or Treaters.

Candy Bar Bats

Candy Bar Bats

These paper bats aren’t just cute, they’re also edible. Unwrap the paper to reveal a fun-size Twix, Milky Way, Snickers or 3 Musketeers bar.

What you’ll need:

Halloween Mars Mix
Googly Eyes
Black Tissue Paper
White paper or cardstock
Glue
String

How to make them:

  1. Wrap one or two pieces of tissue paper around each fun size candy bar. Twist the ends so it looks like a piece of hard candy when you’re done.
  2. Tie string around the twists on either end of the bar to hold the paper in place.
  3. Glue on googly eyes
  4. Cut triangles from the white paper or cardstock.
  5. Glue the triangles to the candy bar so that they look like fangs.

Ghost lollipops

Coffee Filter Ghost Lollipops

A Halloween crafting classic. When I was a kid we used tissues to make ghosts, but coffee filters are a lot more durable and the colorful candy wrapper is less likely to show through.

What you’ll need:

Chupa Chups Lollipops
Coffee Filters
Black Marker
Ribbon

How to make them:

  1. Put the coffee filter over the candy side of the lollipop so the wrapper is completely hidden.
  2. Tie the ribbon around the base of the lollipop to make the ghost shape.
  3. Use a black marker to draw faces on the coffee filters.

Halloween spiders

Spider Pops

These crawly little friends are so cute you might just feel bad eating them. We recommend black or brown pipe cleaners for an authentic look, but you don’t have to limit your (or the kids’) creativity. Purple, orange or green pipe cleaners also look great.

What you’ll need:

Black or brown pipe cleaners
Chocolate Tootsie Pops
Googly Eyes
Glue

  1. Wrap a pipe cleaner once or twice around the base of the Tootsie pop. Try to make sure that the ends are even.
  2. Repeat with three more pipe cleaners. You should have a total of four when you are done.
  3. Bend the pipe cleaners so they look like spider legs.
  4. Glue the googly eyes to the place where all the pipe cleaners overlap.

Hershey Candy Bar Mummies

Unwrap a sweet treat with these mummies made from Hershey candy bars.

What you’ll need:

Cookies N Crème Candy Bar or Hershey Milk Chocolate Bar
white crepe paper streamers
Googly eyes
glue dots
scissors

  1. Cut crepe paper streamers into five-foot lengths. (if using a wide crepe paper, cut each piece in half lengthwise to make the streamer easier to work with.
  2. Use a glue dot (or two) to attach a piece of streamer to the candy bar wrapper.
  3. Wrap the streamer around the candy bar until the wrapper is completely covered.
  4. Glue the free end to the bar using a glue dot.
  5. Affix googly eyes.
