Candy bags for birthday party fun

Candy bags are a convenient way to make sure every kid goes away with something sweet. We’ve selected some of our favorite candy bags for middle school parties, along with DIY options for making them at home. We’ve even got some great picks for bulk candy to fill them with. So whatever theme you’re going for, you’re sure to find something to inspire you.

Candy filled cones

Rainbow Candy Cones

This might be the easiest candy bag ever. All you need is clear bag, some ribbon, and a rainbow of candy. Start with shimmer white gumballs for clouds, layer on Jelly Belly Cherry SoursJelly Bell Sunkist Orange Jelly Beansshimmer yellow sixletssour patch sour appleslight blue candy heartsroyal blue sixlets, and Albanese Grape Gummi Bears to make the rainbow.

Tie the top with a rainbow ribbon and your party favor candy bags are ready to eat. You can achieve a similar, though less varied effect using Skittles or M&M’s. Luckily, M&M’s come in Individual Color bags to make it easy for you.

Candy Ice Cream

Boys and girls alike with scream for these sweet treats. They look like a cool ice cream cone, but they’re filled with candy goodness.

You’ll need some cone-shaped plastic bags, sugar cones, ribbon and bulk candy. Drop the cones pointy-side down into each bag. Then fill each cone with candy. We recommend combining Jelly Belly Cold Stone Ice Cream Mix with Chupa Chups Cremosa Ice Cream Lollipops, though almost any candy will to the trick here.

If you want to add some extra pizzazz, before you put your cones in the plastic, dip the rims in white chocolate and then in sprinkles.

Unicorn poop

Unicorn Poop

Here’s one more way to turn a clear plastic bag into an unforgettable party favor. Fill it with unicorn poop. Any pastel colored candy works for this. Think Pink and Silver Hershey KissesJelly Belly Cotton Candy Jelly Beans, and Princess Mix Sixlets. Add a tag that says “Unicorn Poop” and the kids won’t be able to eat it, they’ll be giggling too hard.

Twizzlers Candy Monster Goodie Bags

These monsters full of candy will by your party guests new best friends. You’ll need scissors, glue, tape, small paper bags in assorted colors, black and white construction paper, Twizzlers and your favorite bulk candy. Fill the bags with candy. Then cut out eyes and teeth using the construction paper. Fold the top few inches of the bag over to close. Then tape or glue the eyes and teeth wherever you think they look best. Finally, add Twizzlers sticking out from the fold of each bag to make a long monster tongue.

Bag of Goldfish, Under the Sea

Perfect for an under the sea, Finding Dory, or beach themed party, these fish bags are almost too cute to eat. You’ll need sandwich bags, blue candy, and an assortment of Swedish Fish. Fill the sandwich bag about half-full of the blue candy. We recommend Jelly Belly Berry Blue Jellybeans for the ideal color. Then add a handful of Swedish Fish. Close the bag and shake gently.
